Abi Clarke
In the past,
i.e. in the beginning of 2020, comedians may have imagined spending years
gigging up and down the UK in stand-up comedy, before being invited onto a
television panel show and then selling the arena tour. It's not easy right now.
One art form that can be performed live in the future is comedy, however there
won't soon be any arena tour. One Bristol comedian, however, has found a huge
worldwide audience during lockdown via social media. Abi Clarke never set up to
become an online superstar. Abi, who is 24, lives in Henbury and began posting
videos online "to build a network of like-minded people who could enjoy my
standup comedy." "I performed a lot in Devon for men older than 50
who were not as enthusiastic about my Love Island Sims and Twilight references,
so it was the right time to search online for others who were young and would
love my stand-up routine." Abi, who lives in Hen bury with her parents
continues to upload her video content to Instagram, Twitter, and Tik Tok. She
gets inspiration from many sources, including conversations with strangers, the
chatroom, and also writing down everything she thinks on her smartphone.
