Susan Sarandon Bio

It was the 1968 Democratic Convention, and there was a casting call for a film with a variety of characters for youngsters who disrupted the event. Two recent graduates of Catholic University in Washington DC went to the auditions in New York for Joe (1970). Chris Sarandon, who had been studying to become an actor, was turned over. His wife Susan was offered a part in the film as Susan Compton. Susan Compton is the daughter of Bill Compton (Dennis Patrick). Dad Bill, Susan's drug dealer boyfriend, dies in the movie. Joe (Peter Boyle) is a bigot, who works on an assembly line, next meets Joe (Sarandon). Janet is a character who falls in love with Dr. Frank n Furter, is the role of Janet in the film The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975). Sarandon fought for Annie in Bull Durham (1988) more than 15 year before she started her acting career. She traveled on her own from Rome and Italy to Los Angeles. "It was an incredible script... It was able to do rid of a lot of legends, and challenged American definition of success," she said. "I went to the studio with Kevin Costner, sex some actors in the studio, and then got back on the plane. Tim Robbins, her Bull Durham (1988) actor, a supporting actor was her first lover. He had two sons in 1992. This puts Sarandon in a difficult position. She would leave her home in order to pursue roles that were truly challenging. Four Academy Award nominations were received in the 1990s. The award for the best actress for Dead Man Walking (1995) was also given. Louis Malle's Atlantic City (1980), was her first Academy Award nomination.
