Courtney Thorne Smith Bio

American actor Courtney Thorne Smith was born on the 8th of November, 1967. She is best known for her roles as Alison Parker on Melrose Place, Georgia Thomas on Ally McBeal, Cheryl in According to Jim and her frequent role in Two and a Half Men as Lyndsey McElroy. Thorne Smith was raised in Menlo Park in the south of San Francisco. Her father, Walter Smith, was a market researcher for computers, and her mother, Lora Thorne, was a Therapist. Courtney was just seven years old when her parents separated. Courtney lived with both parents at various times. Jennifer the older sister is an advertising executive. In 1985, she graduated from Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley, California. While she was in high school, she appeared with Ensemble Theater Company of Mill Valley. Thorne Smith's first film appearance was in the movie drama Lucas. She was accompanied by Winona Ryder (Corey Haim) and Charlie Sheen. In the 80s, she appeared in a number of films like Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II : Nerds in Paradise (1987), Summer School (87) and Side Out (1990). In 1998, she appeared as a star in the box-office flop Chairman Of The Board together with Carrot Top. In 2009, she appeared in Sorority Wars. Thorne Smith has dated Andrew Shue in the 1990s. He was her screen love from Melrose Place. In June 2000, she got married to geneticist Andrew Conrad; the couple separated in January 2001. Roger Fishman (president of Zizo Group, marketing company) and author of What I Know was her wedding date. At the age of 40 she gave birth on January 11, 2008 to Jacob Emerson Fishman.
